The direct descendent (great grand son) of Russian tsar Nikolai I Dmitry Romanovich Romanov currently living in Denmark visited this city. Distinguished guest got acquainted with city life, assigned 2000 dollars for support of the park and the same amount  to the pair of veterans from Andreevka, presented the children's orphanage (building 1554) with a piano.

Birth of a new tradition:  The 1st memorable year-end badge-giving ceremony was shown on the TV. This award is given in 5 nominations, bears an emotional load and shows active laureates' participation in the city life. The award ceremony was held by Prefect A. Smirnov. Among the first laureates were G.Krasnikov, A.Makshantsev, A.Bulakh, V. Bykov, P. Kurochkin.

A memorial to Marshall of the USSR, two times Hero of the Soviet Union K.K.Rokossovsky, was solemnly opened in the park named after the 40th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Mayor of Moscow Yu.Luzhkov, prefect of Zelenograd administrative district A.Smirnov, deputies of the State Duma and the Moscow City Duma, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Marshall's relatives and citizens were present at the ceremony.

JSC «Research Institute of Molecular Electronics and Micron» implemented innovative technology for production of avalanche ultrasensitive photodiodes developed by Joint Institute for Nuclear Research based in Dubna. Developer of the device, leading research worker of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Dr. Sc (Physics and Mathematics) Zair Sadygov demonstrated the work results on «The 4th International Conference on New Developments in Photodetection» that took place from the 19th till the 24th of June in French Bone.

Hounouring and congratulation of the Soviet Union Hero, veteran of the Great Patriotic War Mikhail Moiseevich Kibkalov on his 85th birthday in Culture Palace «Zelenograd».

Opening of commemorative plaque in honour of renaming of trafficway ¹ 4912
Opening of commemorative plaque in honour of renaming of trafficway ¹ 4912 into the street of a pilote, the Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolay Ivanovich Polagushin. On the 5th of December, 2002 in the 3rd microdistrict on the house 306 where the Hero of the Soviet Union Polagushin lived there was opened a commerative plaque. Today the former trafficway ¹ 4912 bears the name of the brave pilot who aged 19 took part in warfigting . Over the war years he was shut three times, injured 3 times but he survived and reached Berlin fighting.

November 29, at 15.30 at MIET Palace of Culture Sergey Revin, a Russian test-cosmonaut of the Roscosmos team met with MIET students, pupils and journalists.
