On November, 3, 2009 children’s music school ¹ 53 named after M. P. Musorgskiy celebrated its 40th anniversary.

In course of its operation the school trained more than 3500 pupils, more than 250 of which received professional music education in higher education institutions.

From the very first days the most experienced teachers work at the school. Among them: Tikhomirova L. N., Kozlovskaya G.B., merited cultural worker of Russian Federation Noskova Z. V., Zaozerskikh I.I., honorable cultural worker of Moscow Gavrilov A. I., Reznikova G. A., Tupoleva T.B., Tsaryova V. L., Mel’shiyan E. P., Kadnikova M. I., Vladimirova O. L., Barchukova N. V., Melkonyan L. A., Truskova S. P., Pankova L. L., Kuz’mina S. N. and many others.

In May of 1996 under the resolution of the government of Moscow the school was named after great Russian composer Modest Petrovich Musorgsky, Following the initiative of ex-headmaster of the school, who had been directing the school for 30 years from its very first days, and under the support of the Head of the Department for Culture of Zelenograd Administrative District of Moscow I. Antonova, the museum n.a. M. P. Musorgskiy was established in September, 1996 (Theoretic department head Kravchenko B. U. is the head of the museum )

For the first time in Zelenograd’s history a music school opened pipe organ department. The pipe organ teacher left our school and then

Graduated from Moscow State Conservatory n.a. P. I. Chaikovsky. In the year of 2008 under the initiative of merited cultural worker of Russian Federation choir teacher Chernetsov A. V., the school opened a choir department for boys.

For the time being the school is attended by 650 pupils. Children play various musical instruments. Among them piano, violin, bass-viol, harp, contrabass, button accordion, piano accordion, domra, balalaika, guitar, bass guitar, organ, clarinet, saxophone, flute, pipe and percussion instruments.

There are several performing groups in the school:

· Senior class choir (directed by Melshiyan E. P.)

· Boys’ chapel (directed by Chernetsov A. V.)

· Violin band (directed by Noskova Z. V.)

· Violin band (directed by Poyarkova N. N.)

· Russian national instruments band (directed by Tsvetkova N. N., Gavrilov A. I.)

· Flute band (directed by Pankova L. L., Kryukov S. S.)

· Bass-viol band (directed by Stakhovskaya I. A.)

· Chamber orchestra (directed by Romanenko M. Y.)

· Harp band (directed by Khoreva E. L.)

· Russian national instruments band (directed by Tsvetkova N. N.)

The pupils of the school successfully perform both at school and municipal concerts, festivals, shows and contests. Among them – The Festival of children’s art “New names of Moscow”, international contests “Silver Diapase”, “Voices of Spring”, Moscow international forum “Gifted children”, Patriarchate concerts and many others.

Among the graduates of the school there are laureate of International contest n.a. P. I. Chaikovsky Marina Tarasova, laureate of International contests Galina Ionkina, gifted musicians Sergey Latyshev, Irina Ascheulova, Mikhail Nagaitsev, Alexander Gladyshev, Mikhail Chechetkin, Alexander Romanenkov, Ivan Sokolov, Sergey Mitin and many others.
