The local consultative and diagnostic center on the basis of children’s local hospital in the 8th microdistrict celebrated 20th anniversary.

According to the specialists’ estimates, the quality of consultative and diagnostic research in the center at hospital 105 is the highest in Moscow.

Hospital 105 is known not only to all Zelenograd citizens who have children but also to many Moscow and Moscow region citizens. The center has been serving Zelenograd children for 20 years (which is about 36 thousand people). It also receives children both from the nearest districts of Moscow and from the regions as well as children with chronic illnesses and pregnant women of high-risk group. The daywork of the center is about 1000 children. However as a rule doctors receive about 1500 people every day. Annually about 35 000 people apply for the doctors of the center.

20 years for a center is a considerable period of time, during this time the consultative and diagnostic center was established, equipped and gathered high-quality workers. Owing to the prime-class job Zelenograd children can receive high-quality care and diagnostic help here.

The participation of the center in “The days of Moscow health care at All-Russian Exhibition Center” speaks for the experience level of its staff. And owing to the high quality of medical help in the center, it became the laureate of All-Russian Exhibition Center and the head doctor of the hospital ¹ 105 G. Rachkova was awarded with a medal of All-Russian Exhibition Center. Expert commission representatives (the doctors of the municipal consultative and diagnostic center as part of the clinic n.a. Filatov) examined the center many times and assessed it as an ideal model of local consultative and diagnostic center with well-run operation.

There are 62 doctors (and 22 specializations) and 87 nurses in the hospital and the center. The equipment of hospital 105 is represented by 44 modern devices from Russia, USA, Denmark, Germany, Italy and other countries – that allows the staff to carry out high-technology diagnostics and rehabilitation cure. During a year the center carries out 104 thousand diagnostic researches including 48 kinds of radial laboratory diagnostics as well as about 60 thousand consultative attendances.

With the help of the modern equipment experienced workers (many of them had been working for hospital 105 for many years), the center disposes a wide range of opportunities for the detection of pathology, step-by-step recovery and rehabilitation of sick children. There are efficient techniques for orthotherapy, sight and hearing restoration (including innate or acquired heterotropy), gastroenterological, and cardiological illnesses and many others.

Pregnant women are thoroughly examined here to reveal a high-risk group for early treatment which cuts down the number of children born with serious innate pathologies (for example Down’s syndrome).

Such examinations are carried on the basis of computer information systems developed in a close cooperation with MIET university.

However it took many years of tense administrative and even diplomatic work to achieve such a high level of organization. Originally the whole consultative and diagnostic center had a few specialists working in the main directions of medicine. Rehabilitation department only started to work with handicapped children, at that time about 30-40 people applied for the center annually (this year about 1000 children with serious pathologies received high-quality help).

The development of consultative and diagnostic center coincided with the years of Perestroika that affected health care system as well: priorities changed as well as supply chains and remuneration of labour. Many times the center had been fought for as officials wanted to separate the hospital from the center with modern equipment and the work running smoothly.

When necessary a severe, but at the same time very friendly Glaina Dmitrievna stands up for her employees with all her might and she is very proud of the center’s achievements, many of them are her own ones. Being a pioneer of consultative and diagnostic centers in Russia, she is eager to learn more about new medical equipment all the time.

She sent the doctors to further vocational training and retraining, depending on the needs of Zelenograd pediatrics.

As a result she was the one who brought up the best consultative and diagnostic center of Moscow (according to the department of health care) and laid the basis for such centers throughout Russia. Until now Galina Dmitrievna has been the mother of her child for whom she does all her best, from capital repairs to training necessary specialists.

Now, at hard crisis times Galina Dmitrievna Rachkova created such conditions in the center that there is no outflow of high-quality staff. She is going to forge ahead and she thinks what specialists are still needed for more thorough examination of Zelenograd children. So in spite of great achievements the main doctor and the staff have much to do together. We can be sure that the health of our children is in safe hands.
