The official delegation of representatives from Shanghai Shentong Metro Co, a management company of Shanghai underground system, visited OJSC “RIME and Micron” in Zelenograd, a parent company of business line “Sitronics Microelectronics”. The aim of their visit is to get acquainted with the manufacture scheme of noncontact transport tickets (RFID) for transport companies.

During the visit Shanghai delegation got acquainted with a complete production cycle of noncontact transport cards organized at the factory. Andrey Golushko, a deputy marketing director of OJSC “RIME and Micron”, marked “The process of manufacture determines reliability of finished products, as well as the correspondence to the customer’s demands and international safety standards”. In the year of 2008 “Micron” produced around 300 million RFID tickets for Russian transport companies, including Moscow, Magnitogorsk and Tyumen. “Our expertise in large-scale supply of such innovative products is of considerable interest for rapidly developing transportation systems both in Russia and abroad” – Andrey Golushko said.

To learn more about the advantages of paper noncontact tickets the delegation from Shanghai underground system also visited Moscow underground that serves the second biggest traffic flow in the world (after Tokyo). Since 2008 Moscow underground has completely shifted to RFID tickets produced by “Micron”. Up-to-date technological solutions made it possible to improve the quality of service as well as to cut down expenses: the time to serve a passenger is cut, operating lifetime of ticket gates is enhanced, and traffic flow is being accounted more efficiently, including tickets entitled to benefits.

Shanghai underground system is one of the world’s youngest and it serves more than 3 million passengers a day. Nowadays there are 8 lines at total length 228,5 4 km, another 5 lines are under construction. Several more lines are planned to be opened next year.
